We’ve worked with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Paragon Creative, to make a waiting/play area for the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow! Mary Pirie, Lead Radiologist, says “the soft play area is a fantastic centre piece in our children’s waiting area. The patients and their siblings love it and it provides a wonderful distraction whilst patients are waiting for their appointments…”
“One area where it is invaluable, is for the patients who are attending for bedtime MRI scans between 7-8pm. Parents keep the children awake all day so that they will sleep soundly for their scans. The children usually arrive very sleepy, however when they see the soft play area they get a ‘second wind’ and they tire themselves out completely and sleep soundly for their scans. This play area really contributes to the success of these scans and avoids the child having a General Anaesthetic for their imaging.”
